Tracy Fillion | Nelson, BC

Tracy is a fibre artist whose work is deeply inspired by the surrounding landscape of rivers and mountains. Her practice focuses on weaving and plant dyeing, working thoughtfully with natural materials and processes rooted in place. She is interested in creating textiles that are either highly functional or quietly thought-provoking, reflecting on relationships between land, labour, and care.

In recent years, teaching has become central to Tracy’s practice. As a local textile educator, she shares skills in weaving and plant dyeing through classes and workshops, finding ongoing inspiration in working alongside others. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, accessibility, and a deepening connection to materials, encouraging participants to engage with textiles as both creative expression and a way of understanding the world around them.
