Danielle Soucie (she/they) | Argenta, BC

My work connects to multiple stages of the soil-to-soil cycle through fibre production, processing, dyeing, and weaving. I raise alpacas for fibre and work directly with raw fleece, processing it by hand into yarn before weaving it into finished textiles. I also grow and harvest plants for natural dyes and research fibre plants suited to my bioregion. Occasionally I incorporate dog fur into yarn for clients who want to commemorate beloved pets, transforming personal fibre into lasting textiles. The materials I use are untreated and biodegradable, allowing the textiles I create to remain part of a natural cycle where fibre originates from the land and can ultimately return to it.
